Pacifying the stars

If you perchance read through the Hanuman Chaleesa blog - you will notice how even the folks who have met with super success (in life as visible to the common man) still may have blemishes with the stars. So, if you have misfortune that follows you and you are a bit lost on the reasons why, here is the 101 on getting the malefic planets to be on your side - appropriate google search will provide you the details on these.

Checkout astrogyan.com or cyberastro.com and create an astrological reading. It is fairly accurate with things amiss in your horoscope or astrological chart.

Figure out what is 'not right' in your chart, and then start looking at how to fix it.

For Malefic effects of Venus (Shukra)
here are some stotras or mantras
Om Hreem Shri Shukray Namah
om shu[ng] shukraa-ya namah(a)
Om Shum Shukray Namah'
Venus Stotra
Hreem Himkund Mrinnaa-laabham Deityaanaam Paramam Gurum.
Sarva-shaastra Pravaktaaram Bhaargavam Pranamaamyaham.
Om Bhurbhuvah Swah Shukrah Ihaagachh Ihatishtthah, Shukraay Namah".
I pray to Venus, the utimate preceptor of demons, promulgator of all learning, he who shines like the fiber of snow-white jasmine.
MANTRA: To be chanted on Friday at sunrise, especially during major or minor Venus periods:
: The planetary diety Shukra is propitiated

For Kal Sarp Dosh -
it is recommended to go do pooja with the help of a Pandit in the vicinity of a Shiva temple (Tryambakeshwar)

Malefic effects of Shani (Saturn).
Reading of 'Hanuman Chalisa' is more effective.
Hanuman Kavach is also very effective.
Hanuman Chalisa is generally read more commonly in the north India than that of Hanuman Kavach.
Few people belive that worshipping Shri. Pachamukhi Hanuman is more effective.
In Maharashtra, Panchamukhi Hanuman Kavach is believed to be more effective, especially for court (legal) matters. It is also believed to be effective in Sadesati.

Malefic effects of Mangal (Mars)
Recite the following Mangal Mantra, to propitiate the red planet. Recite the following Mantra every day in the morning or on every Tuesday.

"Dharnigarbhasambhutam vidyutkantisamprabham,
Kumaram shaktahastam ch manglam
The one who is the son of Bhooma Devi, One who has the lustre of lightning, One who has Shakthi in his hand, and the auspoicious one, I prostrate that Angaraka.
Coral is the gem which represents the Mars.

Malefic effects of Jupiter Guru Mantra
The planet Jupiter or guru rules thighs, flesh, fat, kidney, liver and arterial system. It also controls the auricle and the ventricle. If Jupiter is badly in birth chart, it can cause problems like apoplexy, diabetes, piles, tumors, blood cancer, liver malfunction, loose motions, palpitations and even gout. In such case apart from medical attention the patient can recite the following Guru Mantra, to reduce the ill effects of the afflicted Jupiter in one's birth chart.

"Devanamch rsinamch gurum kanchan sannibham,
Buddhi bhutam trilokesham tam namami brihaspatim"
Recite the above Mantra every day in the morning or on Thursday.
The gem is Pukhraj ( yellow sapphire).

VARANASI: Sporting a large red vermilion 'tika'and clad top-to-toe in a white salwar-kameez and printed dupatta, actor Aishwarya Rai looked very much part of the Bachchan clan during her visit to the temples in Varanasi.

Srikant Mishra, a priest at Kashi Vishwanath temple, said the family took a pledge during 'jalabhishek'but it can only be disclosed by the family.

Present at the ceremonies were superstar Amitabh Bachchan, his wife Jaya, daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda, brother Ajitabh and his daughter Namrata. Family friend and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was also present.

The group arrived at Kashi Vishwanath around 2.45 am and took part in mangala aarti and jalabhishek. They then reached Sankat Mochan temple around 5 am, when the morning aarti was in progress.

After prayers to the presiding deity — Lord Hanuman, they did the parikrama of the sanctum sanctorum and went to Ram-Janki temple situated in the premises.

Acharya Chandramouli Upadhyaya, the local priest of the family and astrology teacher in BHU, later led them to the 'havan kund', where 70 priests had been performing 'shanti paath'for the family since Sunday.

This ritual was followed by the 'panchang pujan'and Hanuman Chalisa recital. After 'Nav-griha shanti paath', the family took part in the 'yash-kirti yajna'and havan with Ash sitting to Abhishek's left. The rituals were performed under Upadhyaya's guidance.

Temple sources said the ceremony may have been an exercise to remove hurdles in the path of Ash's marriage to Abhishek.

According to astrologers, Aishwarya is a 'manglik'and planet Mars needs to be satiated before wedlock, lest it acts as a destructive force in the union.

But Upadhyaya was tight-lipped and said the Bachchans would say whatever needed to be said on the subject.

The family, along with Ash, had landed at Babatpur airport late on Sunday night. While Amar Singh, Abhishek, Aishwarya and Shweta reached from Delhi, Amitabh, Ajitabh and Namrata came from Mumbai.

Jaya Bachchan was already in the city for the shooting of the film Chooriyan. After talking to Upadhyaya, the family spent a few hours at the Taj Ganges and went to Kashi Vishwanath temple at 2.45 in the morning. After two hours of 'aarti'and 'jalabhishek', they left for Sankat Mochan temple.

Other devotees — also present for the 'aarti'performed by five priests led by Acharya Sitaram Shastri — were requested to leave by district magistrate Rajiv Agrawal, as the Bachchans wanted to perform a 'private puja'.

Temple sources said Amitabh performed the 'jalabhishek'with a silver 'shringi'— a vessel used to pour water/milk on the deity — with wife Jaya standing to his right. Son Abhishek stood to the left with Aishwarya to his right.

Asked about the puja by Abhishek and Aishwarya, Mishra told reporters he asked them "to offer sacred water to the Shivaling like Amitji and Jayaji".

After 'jalabhishek', the whole clan went to 'Parvati kaksh', where Aishwarya used vermilion on the idol to apply the 'tika'on her forehead.

After the ceremonies, the Bachchans left for the hotel. Later, Jaya and Rani Mukherjee, who was also in Varanasi for a film, bid them goodbye.

The stars left the hotel at 11.40 am using the service entrance they had used to enter — much to the delight of the kitchen staff, but leaving the media exasperated.

Divine blessings worked for Ash and Abhishek!
Bharat Kumar
Varanasi, January 15

THE BLESSINGS of Lord Vishwanath (Shiva) and Hanuman seem to have paved the way for the Abhishek-Aishwarya engagement ceremony (Roka) on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti in Mumbai on Sunday.

“Yes, I do believe that it was the blessing of Lord Shiva and Hanuman that Abhishek and Aishwarya are going to be married,” a fan of the Bachchan family said. It may be noted that the Bachchans had performed a ‘ Yashkirti Yagya’ in the ancient Kashi Vishwanath temple and Sankat Mochan temple.

Welcome to the spirituality blog

This blog is an offshoot of a website that I had conceived as a result of the spiritual grace and resultant inspiration during Shivaratri Y2K (http://www.jyotirlinga.com) on the joy of Shiva Bhakti and my quest for spiritual progress. Not finding the time (yep, bad excuse!), this blog suits me fine in quickly adding content... my spiritual forays and thoughts - helps log them too. My spiritual journey started with Hinduism and it's simple stories/ teachings as far back as when I was a 2nd grader, with Lord Shiva and has now found convergence with Advaitism / Duality. The Advaitism gurus like Bhagwan Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta Maharaj; they have provided that spiritual boost of energy in many lagging moments and have tremendously influenced me ... little baby steps at a time... that will hopefully all lead upto a final crescendo. The merits of satsangh are many!

Your comments (encouragement/ otherwise) are certainly welcome. Thanks for visiting. If you like it, Subscribe to my blog (click here):Posts (Atom).
