Adsense $$

I was reading Beyond the House of the False Lama: Travels with Monks, Nomads, and Outlaws (Paperback) - chapter insert about ANI thubten Jinpa's work helping homeless kids in Mongolia.

Ani Thubten Jinpa - seems like the Mother Theresa, helping these destitute kids, and it just reinforced to me the poverty that still exists.

And I thought of the free $$ that Google Adsense was generating on my weblogs.
It just doesn't make sense for me to have that $. What would I do with it? Spend it on something frivolous and intangible.

It struck me that it makes total sense to donate it.
Couldn't Google setup a mechanism to facilitate this? And also match it?
I really think it is appropriate.
In any case, I shall be doing my bit.
All the $ that I make through a spiritual cause, does not merit any trivialization, but for some beautiful uplifting cause. So thats my resolve for the day......

Added this as an after thought.....

Thinking about it some more, I will just channel this donation through my corporate, which does the matching donation. Unfortunately, it will happen once a year. That still leaves
ANI thubten Jinpa in the lurch. I have no way to reach her. What about the poor orphans in India? How do I sift through all the fakes and the real ones - who are truly out to do some good. What if the donation is misused? Corporate donorship alliance indicates some serious work on part of the non-profits to get that visibility and create that alliance. How much of the $$ is spent internally within the non-profit as against helping out the cause. There are too many questions, very few answers.

I will just do my bit and donate through corporate. The Google AdSense $$ that I make the previous year will be donated the next year. That is simple enough.

Welcome to the spirituality blog

This blog is an offshoot of a website that I had conceived as a result of the spiritual grace and resultant inspiration during Shivaratri Y2K (http://www.jyotirlinga.com) on the joy of Shiva Bhakti and my quest for spiritual progress. Not finding the time (yep, bad excuse!), this blog suits me fine in quickly adding content... my spiritual forays and thoughts - helps log them too. My spiritual journey started with Hinduism and it's simple stories/ teachings as far back as when I was a 2nd grader, with Lord Shiva and has now found convergence with Advaitism / Duality. The Advaitism gurus like Bhagwan Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta Maharaj; they have provided that spiritual boost of energy in many lagging moments and have tremendously influenced me ... little baby steps at a time... that will hopefully all lead upto a final crescendo. The merits of satsangh are many!
