How can we substain such an extremely high temperature on a regular basis, without much effort? Isn't that fantastic?
The normal core body temperature of a healthy, resting adult human being is stated to be at 98.6 degrees fahrenheit or 37.0 degrees celsius. Though the body temperature measured on an individual can vary, a healthy human body can maintain a fairly consistent body temperature that is around the mark of 37.0 degrees celsius.
The normal range of human body temperature varies due to an individuals metabolism rate, the higher (faster) it is the higher the normal body temperature or the slower the metabolic rate the lower the normal body temperature. Other factors that might affect the body temperature of an individual may be the time of day or the part of the body in which the temperature is measured at. The body temperature is lower in the morning, due to the rest the body received, and higher at night after a day of muscular activity and after food intake.
Have you wondered how our awareness changes in moments of extreme discomfort?
Like when we hear a bad news? Or just at that instant when we have the gatorade dumped on us? "My heart came into my mouth", literally what does that mean?
Think back to an occassion, where was your orientation, where was 'I' at that instant?
10:06 p.m. EST: It's over. At the end, the only suspense was whether Indy coach Tony Dungy could avoid the customary dunking.
With the clock winding down, offensive linemen Tarik Glenn and Jeff Saturday moved into position along the sideline. Dungy was hanging out down at the far end of the Colts bench, giving himself a better view of anyone who might be trying to come up behind him.
Kicker Adam Vinatieri tried to pull off a distracting gesture, giving the coach a hug, but the wily Dungy sensed what was coming and kept glancing behind him.
Glenn and Saturday were forced to put down their giant orange jugs, about 5 yards away from the coach. But with 10 seconds left and the sideline overrun by players, team officials and photographers ready to charge on the field to celebrate the Colts' 29-17 victory, Glenn and Saturday made their move.
The hefty duo nailed Dungy with a double-shot -- a bucket of Gatorade and a bucket of icy water.
Of course, the coach had just stood in a driving rainstorm for 31/2 hours, so it really didn't matter. He already was soaked.
