Om Namah Shivaya!!!
My name is Padmaa and I am from Bangalore, India.
The reason why I am writing to you is, basically I was looking around for some source on the internet or some Tiruvannamalai ardent devotee that I can share a particular photograph with...........the photo is from my first and recent visit to the holy town of Tiruvannamalai.
I suppose you are familiar with Girivalam and must have undertaken it it plenty of times...My first visit to TVM with my husband was in June this year - though I have heard much about TVM since 2 years prior. Hopefully, this first trip is just the first of many more happy visits to come.
We went on girivalam too and I must say we did not quite know the rules. We did as our hotel staff advised us....barefoot, etc. but we started at the road which forks at about 4 km from the big temple. We were told that girivalam has to start and end at the same place.....and need not necessarily begin at the main temple.....and since we were staying at a hotel close to the forked road, we started our girivalam at the Ganesha temple which is right on the fork of the 2 roads. I carried lamps from home before my trip and went about lighting them at each of the temples until I finished my stock of lamps. Everything about TVM feels very cleansing and uplifting......
I have an interesting photograph taken this point, where we started girivalam....the Ganesha temple.....maybe it can be scientifically explained ....I am not sure. There was something like a rainbow light coming from the temple....I am unable to explain it well...but the photo shows something at this particular temple.
But in my experience with my personal digicam.....having clicked about 3500 snaps so far.....I have not seen anything like this on any photos, although I have clicked real rainbows many times during my travels.
Would you like to have a look at it, please? And maybe publish it on one of your blogs or writings on TVM and the girivalam? If yes, I will mail the photo to you once I hear back from you.
Much peace and joy to you and your family,

Padma's Miraculous Spiritual experience
Welcome to the spirituality blog
This blog is an offshoot of a website that I had conceived as a result of the spiritual grace and resultant inspiration during Shivaratri Y2K (http://www.jyotirlinga.com) on the joy of Shiva Bhakti and my quest for spiritual progress. Not finding the time (yep, bad excuse!), this blog suits me fine in quickly adding content... my spiritual forays and thoughts - helps log them too. My spiritual journey started with Hinduism and it's simple stories/ teachings as far back as when I was a 2nd grader, with Lord Shiva and has now found convergence with Advaitism / Duality. The Advaitism gurus like Bhagwan Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta Maharaj; they have provided that spiritual boost of energy in many lagging moments and have tremendously influenced me ... little baby steps at a time... that will hopefully all lead upto a final crescendo. The merits of satsangh are many!
Your comments (encouragement/ otherwise) are certainly welcome. Thanks for visiting. If you like it, Subscribe to my blog (click here):Posts (Atom).
